In Chelsea Seeks Sous Chef in London

Villa Mama’s is a new neighbourhood canteen restaurant opening in Chelsea Green, London. With two successful restaurants, a deli, catering service and food truck in Bahrain, chef owner Roaya Saleh uses fresh, seasonal ingredients as the starting point for new and traditional dishes from Bahrain, Persia and Iran.
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, it will be a warm and convivial space where local and international guests can share food, drink and conversation. We will also offer catering, home delivery and a selection of house-made retail products.
We’re searching for experienced and enthusiastic Sous chef, Pastry chef and Line/commis chefs to work approximately 44 hours over 5 days on a competitive salary.
Covers: 54 inside and 16 outside
Location: Chelsea
Start date: as soon as possible
Sous chef (up to £30,000 OTE)
Work alongside the Head chef to ensure the efficient running of the kitchen on an organisational level with a hands-on and meticulous approach. Lead and manage the kitchen team to achieve the highest standard of food and service, and be proficient on all kitchen sections and willing to teach and guide the team through each shift.
Pastry chef (up to £26,500 OTE)
To work with the Head chef and Sous chef to create, prepare and decorate desserts, cakes and bread. Liaise with Head chef and Sous chef regarding suppliers, inspect quality of ingredients and work to ensure the highest quality of food and service.
Line/commis chefs (up to £24,000 OTE)
Work to ensure highest standards of food preparation, cooking and presentation and constantly and consistently maintain a clean working environment. To manage your prep list with guidance from the Head chef and Sous chef, making sure waste is kept to a minimum and that all prep is completed on time and to standard.
The ideal candidates will have experience in high volume, upscale restaurant kitchens, preferably with knowledge of Arabic cuisine.
• Language Skills: English required, Arabic an asset

• Well-presented and well groomed
• Results oriented with ability to prioritise and attention to detail
• Take responsibility for personal development by attending training sessions or meetings as required and maintain knowledge of current industry trends.
