Import Forwarder in London

Our client is a supply chain operator ranking in the top companies in Europe and the World. As a lead logistics provider, providing end-to-end solutions enabled by its infrastructure, its people, processes and systems.
In this role you will be working within the MAN Import department and is focused towards ocean freight customers, ensuring the client meets their customer's expectations from origin to destination. You should also be prepared to be involved with air imports and multi modal as required and offer support and cover for staff during holiday and absent periods from the office.
This job will require you to:
• Follow strict and time sensitive SOP’s/KPI’s to ensure compliance
• Work closely with internal and external customers
• All aspects of multi modal forwarding from booking to delivery
• Managing communication from China with regards to booking and applying correct carrier and service contract details to origin
• Invoicing and job costing
• Customs Entries
• Assist Supervisor and line manager where required
• Focus on customer service
• Regular customer communication / meetings and business reviews
• Month end department compliance
• Ensure all reports including internal and customer specific are completed within the deadline
• Resolve queries from customers and suppliers
• Operate within companies QA system
• Any other tasks as directed by their Supervisor or line manager
Key requirements:
• Educated to GCSE/O’ level standard or equivalent
• A high level of planning experience with regards to the importation of high volume shipments from door to door for Ocean shipments. Air import knowledge an advantage
• Minimum of 5 years import experience
• Knowledge of multi-modal import processes would be of benefit
• Comprehensive Customs clearance knowledge
• A high level of customer service skills
