Immigration Solicitor or Senior Caseworker/Legal Advisor

GOOD ADVICE UK is a well-established and very dynamic medium size immigration law firm based in Holborn specialising in all aspects of UK immigration law and procedure with specific focus on appeals, charged application, PBS applications, Sponsor Licence applications and EEA applications.
The firm practices only immigration law and we are regulated by the OISC. We have been practising for nearly 10 years and as a result we have with solid presence in the market.
3. Job Description:
This job role involves similar duties of an immigration law solicitor or a senior caseworker such as to carry out legal research, draft grounds of appeal and rebuttal briefs, draft witness statements, read relevant laws and policies, draft rigorous correspondence to relevant authorities, complete application forms, write letters, emails and statements related to various immigration law matters.
The role also involves carrying out the necessary associated administrative duties such as to review, scan and action incoming correspondence, frank outgoing post, issue invoices, draft welcome packs and review compliance documentation, handle telephone and email enquiries, book appointments, carry out general and legal file keeping responsibilities.
Furthermore, this role requires drafting coherent Administrative Review grounds and submit them with the associate application firm to the relevant authorities, prepare advice letters following initial consultations/enquiries and be kept abreast of the constantly changing immigration laws and policies, read updated policy guidance documents and adapting the casework on existing client cases in line with updated guidance.
You would be regularly drafting chase letters and formal correspondence to the Home Office engaging on specific points on behalf of clients and draft covering letters that accompany applications, complete application forms in capital block letters wither by handwriting or electronically.
The role also involves administrative duties such as carrying out necessary associated administrative tasks such, copying, scanning, filing, reviewing the incoming post, frank the outgoing post, issuing invoices, drafting welcome pack including terms of instructions and ensure the compliance documentations are in place, handle telephone and email enquiries, book appointments, meeting client to collect documents, attend to client initial meetings when possesing the necessary experience and adapting to the company mannerism, carrying out general and legal file keeping responsibilities.etc. The above list has been provided as an illustration and is not intended to be not exhaustive.
4. Qualification:
The successful candidate would be expected to have a bachelor degree law as a minimum from a UK Higher Education Institution or related qualifications such as LLB, LLM, GDL, LPC, BPTC.
Applicants with Law, History, business degrees will be considered.
5. experience:
The ideal candidate would be expected to have at least 1 year of recent solid immigration law experience.
The successful candidate would be expected to have focused legal experience and excellent legal drafting skills.
6. Key responsibilities:
• Take initial instructions from potential new clients and offer initial advice verbally and in writing.
• Following up on existing client cases and establish the relevant facts and key dates and take continues instructions.
• Advice on all aspects of immigration law, in particular appeals, EEA applications, Nationality.
• Prepare appeal bundles, draft witness statements, engage with medical experts.
• Correspond with the Home Office and Immigration Tribunals and barristers.
• Carry out the necessary legal research and provide sound advice.
• Manage own caseload with efficiency.
• Ensure the confidentiality and security of all firm and client documentation and information.
• Maintain high standard in the processing of casework, both in respect of professional standards and client care.
• Maintain good professional working relationships internally and with external institutions and organisations.
• Meet assigned deadlines and communicate case progress/status/issues to supervisor.
