The Larder is a café and catering company based in Wanstead, Chingford, Bethnal Green and Walthamstow with 60 staff. Trading successfully for 10 years we are now expanding to new sites and need to build out our management team to ensure success as we transition from a small company to a bigger one!
Our previous management model, of key directors doing a bit of everything, is no longer viable and we seek to professionalise our business by hiring experienced individuals who can bring their specialist skills in Human Resources , marketing, events and operations.
Right now we require a motivated and energetic Human Resources manager to help with recruitment and vetting, then issue contracts, monitor and maintain training and other staff records, deal with all Human Resources matters and generally ensure we are compliant with Human Resources legislation. Over and above this we would look to the successful candidate to pro-actively improve the Human Resources function overall and help bring Human Resources best practice to the Larder.
You will have at least 3 years generalist Human Resources experience, ideally more, and be capable of self-managing to achieve the brief above. You will be a confident in Microsoft word and willing to produce contracts as well as post them! You will have great people skills, able to handle the difficult meetings, as well as supporting the managers in their recruitment.
We believe the role could be done over one or two days per week at a time and location to suit, working flexibly from one of our café sites, at our office in Buckhurst Hill, or from home. A combination of full, half or three-quarter days could be worked to suit.
