PART TIME (20 HRS PER WEEK) HOUSEKEEPER / COOK. Henley-ON-THAMES, OXFORDSHIRE
Our client is looking for a very capable individual to become the Housekeeper Cook for their 5 bedroom family home in Henley-on-Thames. This can be a Live In or a Live Out role and is solely responsible for the Housekeeping of the property including cleaning, laundry, ironing and daily cooking. The overriding goal of the role is to keep a friendly family home in general state of tidiness and preparedness with the minimum of fuss. The family have two children aged 6 and 1.
Role details
Hours: 9am - 1pm, 5 x days per week. Monday to Friday only.
Salary: £15 gph
Start Date: as soon as possible
Responsibilities:
• Daily tidying of the house including putting away Toys and making beds.
• Daily clean of the kitchen and utility room including loading and unloading dishwasher, clearing glasses, cleaning appliances and organising cupboards and fridge.
• All laundry including school uniform, sports kit and bedding changes.
• Ironing of clothes and other items as required.
• Preparing fresh, healthy evening meal for the family on a daily basis.
• Keeping all bathrooms clean and bins emptied.
• Wardrobe management for the family ensuring everything is kept well organised and tidy.
• Thorough hoovering and dusting of the house, cleaning skirting boards and window sills.
• Cleaning of inside windows when required.
• Sewing and mending of clothes when needed.
• Watering and general care of indoor plants.
• Running various household and local errands as necessary including occasional grocery shopping.
• Prepare guest room when necessary.
• Prepare shopping lists and order items weekly online from supermarket and organic food delivery company.
• Receive and put away online grocery deliveries
• Water and tend garden herbs for cooking
• Place rubbish/recycling/compost neatly in outside bins as and when required.
• Take out rubbish/recycling/compost bins to main road once a week and bring back bins from road once emptied
• Polish shoes and clean boots
• Keep shoe/coat cupboards organised
• Pack suitcases as and when required
• Polish picture frames as and when required
• Empty letter box
• Accept and sign for courier deliveries
• Occasional Babysitting (agreed in advance).
Candidate Requirements
• We are looking for an experienced Housekeeper who has worked in similar roles and has a stable CV. The family is looking for someone to join them on a long-term basis.
• Ability to plan your hours in the house and prioritise tasks appropriately.
• Proven housekeeping skills with the ability and dedication to have the house always looking in immaculate condition.
• You will be a self-starter who shows initiative and is with the able to work unsupervised.
• Ability to cook fresh, healthy meals
• Excellent standard of spoken and written English.
• Ability to be loyal, discrete and totally dependable.
• Driving License preferable.
• Excellent, verifiable references.
• Legally able to work in the UK.
