Our client with a large staffed formal property in Highgate are looking to recruit 2 Housekeeping Supervisors to join the housekeeping team.
Role and Responsibilities
The Housekeeping Supervisor is expected to report directly to the House Manager and Deputy House Manager, and oversee operational staff on a daily basis to ensure the day to day running of a premier private estate. The Housekeeping Supervisor is expected to work with the other members of the management team to deliver the highest level of service to the Principals. You will be expected to be hands on and lead by example if appropriate to the situation. Your premier responsibility will be to the main Principals and to oversee their private accommodation and their personal belongings. You will be expected to have extensive experience in the following areas:
Extensive laundry knowledge and wardrobe management, caring for high end materials and designer garments and jewellery.
Must be able to work in all areas of laundry including washing, sorting, pressing, spot cleaning and dry cleaning awareness.
Anticipate the needs of the Principals and make their environment as comfortable to their needs as possible.
Oversee the clothes inventory and keep it up-to-date. Update family information records.
A hands-on approach to Housekeeping duties.
Care of bedroom Suites, changing beds and replenishing linen.
Lead members of the operational house team to deliver the highest level of personal service to the Principals.
Delivering instructions to the team.
Undertake personal maiding duties for guests; to include caring for clothes, running baths, dressing and calling trays etc.
Packing and unpacking luggage.
Compile consumables requests and liaise with the management team.
Constantly review housekeeping standards and future materials that may be used in conjunction with environmental concerns.
Good understanding of working with state of the art systems.
Staff continuation training and personal development and ability to instruct colleagues to the needs of the Principals when working in these areas.
Excellent team building skills.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Stock control.
To be flexible with working hours and adaptable to change. Must be flexible to work weekends and Bank Holidays. Time will be given in lieu when additional hours are worked.
Event Management experience.
Be aware of standards around the whole property at all times, to ensure all service standards and operational flows are well maintained but never intrude the privacy of the Principals, their Family and Guests.
Ensure Health and Safety guidelines are followed and staff are aware of their responsibilities.
Any other tasks which support the estate.
Qualifications and Education Requirements.
The Housekeeping Supervisor is expected to have worked at the highest level of service either within the hotel industry or private house for UHNWI. The Housekeeping Supervisor is expected to work in partnership with the other members of the management team to deliver the highest level of service, cleanliness and house performance. It is expected that the Housekeeping Supervisor will train, support and enhance the knowledge and skills of their team, to help develop the staff and encourage them to deliver even higher standards. Qualifications such as diplomas, NVQ’s, SVQ’s or hospitality management qualifications are preferable.
Preferred Skills
Able to use Word, Excel.
Performance Management and Training experience.
Housekeeping qualifications
Health and Safety qualifications, NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent.
Be able to translate Risk Assessments and Method Statements into the work place.
Additional Notes
This is a demanding and high pressure role running a private estate at 7* level. This role would best suit someone who is at the very top of their discipline and wants to take themselves and their team to the next level. The investment in this person and their team is a reflection of the value placed on the staff by the Principals, and this level of ownership comes with the salary range and benefits you would expect for such a prestigious post.
Hours: 5 days a week, 10 hours per day, weekends on occasion and paid as overtime.
Salary £25,000-£30,000 per annum
