We are looking for a part-time permanent housekeeper / mother's help, to help with managing our household and with our two boys (9 month old and almost 3).
We live down the back of Nunhead, near Ivydale Road. We both work, James full time and Claire part-time, but both with long hours. The boys go to a nanny-share when Claire is working, finishing about 6.30.
We would want someone who can work 3 or 4 days a week, finishing about 7.30 or 8pm. Start time can be flexible. In total around 14-16 hours a week. Up to £12 per hour for the right candidate.
There would be two aspects to the job - looking after the house (tidying, washing, cooking), and helping with the boys particularly at bed times.
Housekeeping would include:
- Taking care of all of the washing - including taking some to the laundromat/drycleaner when necessary.
- Keeping the house neat and tidy on a daily basis - putting things away, basic daily cleaning (wipe kitchen bench/sweep living areas), make beds etc.
- Full cleaning is NOT required - we have a cleaner that comes one a week who will do that.
- Some cooking - particularly for the boys, but also when time permits prepare family means which can be left on the hob for later.
- Receiving deliveries, including groceries, and putting away.
- other errands as needed.
Mothers' Help to include:
- principally helping with bath and bedtime each night. The boys are at a nanny share until 6.30pm on days when Claire works. You would potentially help with collection (or one of us will pick them up) and then help manage bathtime/bedtime. On days Claire is at home you would be available to look after one or both of them for an hour or so at a time if Claire has to go out.
- From September the oldest will be at nursery, so you may do some pick-ups, depending on how that works out.
- Helping the boys to put away their Toys etc.
Flexibility as to timing would be preferred - ideally you could stay later on occasion if we are out or cannot get home from work, and would be available for occasional babysitting. Hours can also be flexible - particularly moving back to more of a day-time role as the boys get a bit older and less help is needed in the evenings.
Clean drivers license a bonus.
