The experienced Head of Housekeeping is required to look after the Guest House including the garden, the co-working space, the co-working space “The Loft” and the two private residences.
The role:
• Keep the houses looking immaculate and well presented at all time.
• Cleaning inside house, doing the laundry and ironing. You should know how to look after fine fabrics and designer clothing, changing the bed and other household linen, making up guest rooms when needed, setting the table and serving meals, greeting guests and serving refreshments, wardrobe management, and anything that is needed to make the household run smoothly.
• When the Principals are away, then you would have time to organise wardrobes, do some deep cleaning of the houses.
• The properties are always expected to be in a ready state.
• There is no daily cooking in this role, but you should be comfortable to make a meal if it would be required.
• When principals are NOT in residence you will need to be flexible with your days off.
Household responsibilities:
• Manage the operation.
• Manage the household budget
• To have a very high standard of cleaning.
• Clean and maintain the interior to a high standard.
• Ensure the linen, curtains, blinds and fabrics are kept clean and laundered.
• experience in dealing with laundry, delicate fabrics, hand washing.
• Cooking when requested and serving, and clearing away after meals - if needed.
• To be responsible for the daily upkeep of the houses.
Front of House (ability to receive guests when Principals are not in residence)
• Detail cleaning of all areas in preparation for guest arrival.
• Clean outside
• Clean the offices daily
• Clean the main common bathrooms twice a day.
• Give a daily swift clean at the main private residences.
• Looking after the dogs, feeding and walking the dog.
• Looking after the cats and feeding.
• Grocery shopping
• Run errands and general duties
Hours are flexible and dependent on the flow of business. This position will grow and will eventually include managing staff of your own.
