My Bloomsbury is a 4* boutique hotel in Central London. We are looking for a Hotel Porter to assist in all aspects of Front Desk operations. The right candidate will need to be fully conversant with all emergency and security procedures within the hotel, and take charge of any situation that may arise. They will need to maintain the highest standards of service and operational efficiency within all areas of responsibility.
Main Areas of Responsibility
- Make sure all guests receive a warm and courteous welcome upon arrival.
- Constantly check and maintain the entrance, lobby, lifts and front desk areas to ensure cleanliness and tidiness.
- Ensure that all entrance glass is clean and smudge free and that the paved areas are swept overnight and during the day as often as required to maintain an immaculate first impression.
- Ensure that the highest level of service is provided to all guests and clients of the hotel, when being dealt with.
- Ensure that all guest comments, including complaints, are reported and recorded with the Front Desk Team Leader.
- Maintain appropriate standards of conduct, dress, hygiene, uniform, appearance and posture at all times.
- Complete a full and complete Runner handover for each shift ensuring a seamless service.
- Receive a thorough handover from the Team Leader and receive daily duties from them.
- Ensure all luggage is correctly tagged and if not query with the Team Leader.
- Control the ordering (nights) delivery and proper placement of newspapers and magazines in public spaces.
- Prepare luggage Tags in advance ensuring all storage areas are well stocked and properly maintained.
- Ensure all ashtrays are kept clean
- Present promotional brochures in the displays provided.
- Continually collect and distribute correspondence, fax and mail between the hotel departments, guest rooms and offices.
