The Host is responsible for ensuring the prompt recognition and seating of all guests, and assists the servers in providing attentive, courteous and efficient service to guests throughout their dining experience.
Job duties
•    Availability to work evenings, weekends and most holidays.
•    Communicating clearly and effectively with guests and co-workers.
•    Answer phones in a prompt manner with appropriate scripting.
•    Bid farewell to the guests and welcoming them back.
•    Provide guests with menus
•    Maintain menus by ensuring cleanliness and accuracy.
•    Greet guests and seat them at tables or in waiting areas.
•    Assign guests to tables suitable for their needs.
•    Inspect dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup.
•    Speak with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and service, and to respond to complaints if addressed.
•    Receive and record guests' dining reservations via Open Table.
•    Promote and distribute information at the host stand about SUSHISAMBA events and promotions.
•    Maintain contact with kitchen staff, management, serving staff, and customers to ensure that dining details are handled properly and customers' concerns are addressed.
•    Direct guests to coatrooms and waiting areas such as Bar and/or lounge.
•    Must stay up to date with general knowledge about SUSHISAMBA concept and cuisine.
•    Other duties may be assigned
Minimum qualifications
•    Fluent English Speaker
•    High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
•    Prior industry related  restaurant experience required.
•    Knowledge of restaurant operations, guest relations; written and verbal English language communication skills.
•    Must have a professional and well-groomed appearance, as he/she is the first impression of the restaurant.
•    Ability to multi-task and follow directions.
•    Must be prompt, courteous, and reliable.
•    Flexibility in scheduling strongly preferred.
•    Applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK, without restrictions. Documented evidence of eligibility will be required from all candidates.
