The Role
We are now seeking highly dedicated and passionate Host/Hostess Staff to support our Petersham Nurseries Covent Garden operation. This role is an integral part of food and beverage management team and will provide strong leadership to the team in achieving first class customer service. Reporting to the Senior Maitre’d Hotel, you will focus on providing exceptional customer service.

Our Restaurants
La Goccia – Petersham Nurseries interpretation of Cicchetti and aperitivo will be showcased within this vibrant and accessible all – day restaurant offering an extensive menu of small sharing plates. An open grill and a wood burning oven will add an element of drama and theatre to the ambiance, as food will be prepared in front of diners.
The Petersham- Upholding the strong values and ethos established in Richmond at Petersham Nurseries Café, The Petersham will add a new character to the existing fold. Transformed in Covent Garden setting, at the heart of the theatre district, The Petersham will debut, presenting itself as a sophisticated, refined, a la Carte restaurant demonstrating a chic and tailored style.
Necessary experience and Skills
·Able to work under pressure by prioritise work load and relay the right information to the team
·Excellent verbal and written communication skills
·Computer literacy (word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Open Table system)
·Organized and able to meet deadlines
·Enhance first and last guests' impression in the restaurant and on the phone. Develop welcoming and farewell techniques.
·Able to train desk staff the ethos and standard of the Company
·Understands the Petersham Nurseries brand, its standards and quality.
·Develop a good relationship with regulars and recognise them, can give the waiting staff a full brief of the regulars' likes and dislikes.
·Maximising opportunities on all reservation and casual entry management by maintaining and/or changing the booking sheets for the restaurant, slots up-to date, book a restaurant in par with events, etc…
·Upkeep of the menus, up to date, clean, enough for the service, special Function/event menus
·Prepare and give an input on the briefing sheet.
·Communication with the sister restaurant and other departments daily/weekly bookings forecast
·At least 1 year as a host in a busy restaurant and familiar with West End restaurant scene.
