Requirements
• A caring nature and a sincere compassion, honesty and respect for vulnerable adults
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work with different kind of clients and attend their needs by delivering physical, psychological and social care and supporting the smooth running of the routines within the homes
• Ability to work under pressure, on your own or as part of the team
• Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent e.g. NVQ2) (Desirable) not Essential.
• experience of providing high standards of Care.
• experience of meeting the needs and support of a variety of residents
• experience of developing professional relationships
• Understanding of regulations and legislation within the care profession
• Understanding of and ability to apply the principles of safeguarding adults at risk
• Flexible and approachable with a positive attitude, even under pressure
• Able to complete records accurately.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Assisting with personal care duties including infection prevention and control, food, personal hygiene and overall reassurance, comfort and safety.
• Delivering a high level of personal and psychological care to all residents in a professional manner, administering care requirements to resident’s i.e. Medications; toileting; bathing; etc.
• Complete records where required to a satisfactory standard. Keyworker and Care Plan documentation are fully completed within the timeframes agreed.
• Support co-workers and senior staff on duty, acting as team worker at all times for the benefit of the residents and staff.
• Make and change beds, ensuring that rooms are clean and tidy, and commodes are empty. Ensure the Home’s resources are used appropriately.
• Clean and maintain equipment used by Clients / Relatives e.g. Wheelchairs, hearing aids, spectacles etc. Ensure the Home is kept clean and tidy, in line with the Company’s attention to detail philosophy.
• If applicable, care for Clients’ clothing and rooms as named, and ensure that all clothing is recorded and clearly marked.
• Ensure full privacy and dignity is maintained for the dying and the bereaved, in line with the Company’s policies and procedures.
• Assist Clients who need help during meal times (be aware of swallowing difficulties, dietary requirements etc.). Assist with serving of food / drinks as requested / required.
