Peabody has an exciting opportunity for a Head Of Thamesmead Cultural Strategy to join our team in Thamesmead. You will join us on a full time, fixed term basis of 9 months and you will receive a salary of £60,000 - £67,000 per annum.
Peabody, in partnership with the Royal Borough of Greenwich and the London Borough of Bexley, has embarked on an extensive regeneration programme for Thamesmead in South East London that will span 30 years, build thousands of new homes and support both existing and new communities.
We are passionate about the role arts and culture should play in this regeneration programme and in helping Thamesmead to meet its full potential. A Cultural Strategy for Thamesmead was approved in summer 2021 with an agreed 5 year delivery plan, which this role will oversee. The strategy is ambitious and wide reaching and includes the opening of a new cultural hub with Bow Arts, high profile outdoor events and commissions, embedding creative skills and job opportunities across Thamesmead, planning for new cultural facilities, and a commitment to working with the local community to celebrate Thamesmead’s unique identity and raise its profile.
The Head Of Thamesmead Cultural Strategy role:
We are looking for someone with a passion for culture led regeneration who understands the importance of maintaining relationships and momentum to deliver an agreed vision.
As the Head of Thamesmead Cultural Strartegy you will be a key member of the Thamesmead Regeneration Directorate, reporting to the Director of Landscape and Placemaking, and working closely with the Executive Director for Thamesmead and other senior colleagues. You will help to further the role and value of culture within Peabody and promote Thamesmead as a great place for culture to thrive.
Key responsibilities of our Head Of Thamesmead Cultural Strategy:
The post will line manage the Cultural Programme Co-coordinator who supports this varied and complex programme of work, through all production and community engagement, and will be responsible for all freelance posts including a part time heritage project manager to deliver the Thamesmead Community Archive.
