Head of Safeguarding, Prevent and Foundation Learning (0.6 job share)
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive lead for Safeguarding and Prevent and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI). BDC has focused on developing, implementing and monitoring strategies to promote equality and diversity, Fundamental British and college values in all aspects of the learner experience and to ensure robust safeguarding systems to identify and support when students experience harm.
The successful candidate will have experience as a teacher and curriculum manager. You will have experience of observing and supporting teachers to improve learning and teaching. You will be an inspiring staff trainer for both groups and individuals.
You will have knowledge of the safeguarding and Prevent duty legislation and experience of implementing effective safeguarding policy and processes.
You will be familiar with legislation in relation to EDI and the good practice in
FE colleges.
You will have experience of promoting EDI for learners and will be confident in using quantitative and qualitative tools to monitor practice.
You will have excellent communication skills (both oral and written) and the ability to build effective working relationships with students, staff and external stakeholders.
