Head of Buying and Merchandising:
‘’We are recruiting for a new Head of Buying and Merchandising to oversee a small team responsible for range building across both our stores in Richmond and Covent Garden as well as our Ecommerce site.

Necessary experience and Skills
This role would suit an experienced Senior Category Manger/Buyer ready to take their career to the next level. The candidate would ideally have experience in managing Homeware and Gifting Categories, responsible for the delivery of key commercial KPIs including Sales, Margin, OTB and Stock Management.’’
Principal Accountabilities
Accountable for owning, developing and driving the Retail Product Range to exceed sales and profit budgets, both in-store and online.
Fully accountable for the personal development of the Petersham buying and merchandising team.
Oversee the delivery of weekly, monthly and quarterly sales reports and bi-annual Board Reviews.
Responsible for delivering the agreed profitability across categories.
Develop a network of suppliers to ensure consistent delivery and agreed expansion of core products that meet Petersham Brand Values.
Deliver and develop the core product business, whilst maintaining the current one-off purchases to achieve the commercial goals,
Ensure the team are sourcing appropriate mix of regular Newness and press-worthy pieces.
Accountable for monitoring and reviewing category and range performances against financial objectives; identifying new opportunities and taking corrective action where necessary.
Creating and communicating performance information and tactical plans to the wider business.
Develop and implement buying plans, product development, purchasing and range sales strategies with the retail team.
Prepare and agree the annual budget and KPIs in close partnership with the finance team and ensure adherence to OTB practices and process.
Develop high competitor and market awareness within the team.
Responsible for ensuring the team delivers the required standards in terms of product quality and compliance to legal procedures and standards.
Deliver all buying processes and procedures and ensure these are followed by the team.
Ensure strong supplier relationships exist for long-term collaboration and high service levels.
Work with ERP, EPOS and ecommerce IT providers to ensure buying, retail, website and stock teams have the best possible admin and process solutions within the available budgets.
