Job Purpose:
To lead a team to provide high quality management reporting and act as a finance business partner to business unit heads in order to support the company in the achievement of strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
-Produce high quality management accounts each period, include supporting analysis and commentary of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow statement.
-Work with senior leadership team members to develop an annual budget for the organisation that furthers its long term strategic plans.
-Monitor and analyse actual results against budget and forecast for individual cost centres and company-wide KPI’s.
-Meet each period with business unit managers to discuss P and L reporting and analysis to develop mutual understanding of the business implications and actions required.
-Consolidate budget or forecast planning accounts and produce presentation reports for the Finance Director, Board and Group.
-Work in partnership with finance and other staff within the UK group to develop and implement processes to automate, improve and optimise business information.
-Assist in the development, implementation and effective use of business information software within the Company.
-Manage and develop your direct reports.
Qualifications and Other Requirements:
-ACA/Cima/ACCA fully qualified or equivalent.
-Solid post qualification track record of providing a comprehensive management accounting service to a wide range of stakeholders.
-experience in a busy role requiring strong analytical and critical thinking skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
-Proven experience of advising and supporting business unit managers as a finance business partner.
-experience of managing or supervising less experienced team members is desirable.
-Excellent organisational skills; prioritises effectively and delegates appropriately.
-Great communication skills; able to explain complex financial concepts and data to a non-finance audience.
-Customer oriented and able to build strong relationships with colleagues and internal and external stakeholders.
-Commercially aware, forward thinking and strategic in approach.
-Delivers to a high standard and challenges existing practices to improve quality.
