This is a fantastic job for a Head Housekeeper to work in a beautiful residence on the London/Surrey border. The property is a 40 minute journey on the train from Central London.
You will be leading a team of five - four housekeepers and a laundress in this fully staffed formal household that also includes a chauffeur, private chef and a house manager.
Your role will involve leading and training the team so that the property runs like a 5* hotel. You will therefore need to understand how a house of this level runs and is presented. You will be responsible for all housekeeping and cleaning, laundry including the care of fine clothing and fabrics, packing and unpacking suitcases, wardrobe management, preparing guest rooms and the principals suite etc. You will be expected to be 'hands on' when needed and to lead by example, organise rotas, look after household inventory etc.
The successful candidate will have worked as a head housekeeper in a private residence for at least 3 years with suitable references. You must be organised, a very good communicator who is able to motivate their staff, speak excellent English and be well presented.
You will be working Monday to Friday, starting at 7.30/8am and finishing at 6pm - you will need to be flexible at very busy times, although the family do also travel throughout the year. This role can be live out, or live in. If you live out then you can drive to the property, or you can use the taxi account if you need to get to and from the station or a local address. Alternatively you can live in - and you are welcome to go back to your own home at the weekends - a very nice private bedroom and bathroom would be available for you to use. Salary will be £40,000 gross per annum
