We have owned The Empress in Victoria Park for 6 years. In that time we have won a Michelin Bib, 2 AA Rosettes and was in last years Michelin top 10 gastropubs.
We opened a second site 3 years ago in Clapton, the Crooked Billet.
Initially food was not a major part of the operation but the are changed hugely and we brought in a new head chef and started building a decent reputation for food. He is now leaving and we are looking to build on what we have started.
We are looking for an ambitious head chef that can guide the menu to their style with out loosing what we have built up. You will have as much say as you want in changing the food operation.
Its a big job though - we take over £15k a week on food and we have an outside kitchen that we open up to cater for the busy summer months. That is currently doing great tacos but you may want to do something else.
There is a great flat for the head chef on site if you require it and a shared flat for other chefs if you want to bring others with you.
The salary is a min of £35k per year but more for the right person.
