Brunswick East is an independently owned speciality coffee and brunch café in the heart of Dalston, established by (us!) two Australian sisters. Following the great Australian tradition of brunch we are looking for a confident and imaginative head chef to join our expanding business.

We are seeking someone who is passionate about produce and (most importantly) has an exceptional palate and an enthusiasm towards all things brunch. An understanding of brunch and coffee culture is imperative and being driven to produce outstandingly tasty and satisfying food a must!

Our food ethos is based around fresh seasonal produce, simplicity and resourcefulness which includes producing as much as we can in house (curing and smoking, all cakes, pastry, jams, spreads, butter, Pesto’s, dips, we make our own Almond milk, ice-creams and everything in between)

As a minimum we will expect to see expect to see experience in the following areas:

- Maintain an exceptionally high standard of output from the kitchen.
- Maintain a safe, hygienic and compliant kitchen environment.
- Minimum of two years experience working at a senior level.
- An aptitude for leadership and team work.
- experience of working in a high volume kitchen and working well under pressure.
- Stock / Ordering

This role has scope for expansion and would suit someone who oozes creativity and a desire to grow within an successful independent business.

What we seek:

You will have a creative and forward thinking approach to great food and be able to work well in a busy environment. The working week is between 40 – 50 hours, including weekends with 2 days off a week.

This is a dynamic opportunity to grow and evolve with a great team of food loving folk.

Package: £29,500 p/a, holiday pay, bonuses.
Hours: 5 day shifts a week, with 2 days off a week.
