Brunswick East is an independently owned speciality coffee and brunch café in the heart of Dalston, established by (us!) two Australian sisters. Following the great Australian tradition of brunch we are looking for a confident and imaginative Head Chef to join our expanding business.
We are seeking someone who is passionate about produce and (most importantly) has exceptional palate and great enthusiasm towards the art of brunch. An understanding of brunch and coffee culture is imperative and being driven to produce outstandingly tasty and satisfying food a must!
Our food ethos is based around fresh seasonal produce, simplicity and resourcefulness which includes producing as much as we can in house (all cakes, pastry, jams, spreads, butter, Pesto’s, dips, we make our own Almond milk, ice-creams and everything in between)
Head Chef
- Manage team of 3
- Writing seasonal brunch and lunch menus.
- Create seasonal pastries, cakes and more for our counter (including vegan, and gf options)
- Develope weekly specials
- Overseeing the launch of retail product range.
- Costing and food management including waste management and ordering.
You will have a creative and forward thinking approach to great food and be able to work well in a busy environment. The working week is between 40 - 50 hours. All shifts are daytime.
This is a dynamic opportunity to grow and evolve with a great team of food loving folk.
Package: Salary, reflective of experience.
Hours: 5 day shifts a week comprising of 4 weekday shifts and one weekend shift.
Benefits: 28 days holiday, weekday hours, 5 shifts per week, Staff food and discounts, socials and parties, creative and positive work environment.
