Head Chef for dynamic London art-hotel
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an up and coming chef to shape the kitchen at Green Rooms, London’s first social enterprise art hotel. Having run pop-ups to date the hotel would now like to bring catering fully in house and provide hotel guests and local diners with an interesting take on classic dishes.
Green Rooms offers stylish but affordable accommodation in 22 double rooms, two studio apartments and two dormitory rooms, events spaces for exhibitions
and rehearsals, a lively restaurant and a bustling bar.
The hotel offers casual dining, lunch and dinner, 7 days a week, and the role will require recruiting and running a small team and creating a menu that excites and appeals to a broad demographic. The hotel also offers internal events catering which will need planning and executing, from meetings and conferences to weddings and parties.
-Restaurant with 50 covers
-Event spaces for up to 120 guests
We are looking for an organised, motivated and consistent chef who will set standards and put the hotel restaurant on the map.
The ideal candidate should:
-Enjoy working as part of a small team as well as on their own
-Have previous experience within a similar position
-Be able to work well under pressure
-Have a friendly, flexible and professional attitude
-Have a broad knowledge of British and global cuisine
Key roles and responsibilities:
-Managing food cost and set procedures to keep waste to a minimum
-Pricing/cost calculation of the menu
•Preparing and cooking food for lunch and dinner, both alone and delegating to the kitchen team
•Making sure food is the right quality and well-presented
•Overseeing stock control/ management
•Ordering food from suppliers
•Controlling the budget and keeping accurate records
•Managing health and safety and Hygiene procedures
