Company
Laines is one of the most progressive pub companies in the country, with a commitment to creating sites that are more than just a place to buy a pint. Our pubs are filled with culture, from events like live music, circus shows, and comedy, to original art and great food and drinks, including Beers made in our own breweries. They’ve also put on craft beer festivals like Tap Takeover, and street parties for Pride and St Patrick’s Day. But most importantly they’re filled with passionate intelligent young people looking for a place to connect with.
We work with the people that run our pubs – our Management Partners – in a way that encourages autonomy and creativity. We’re interested in giving them the chance to put their own stamp and personality on the site. That comes with a huge amount of support, from a dedicated operations manager, sales and marketing team, and people to fix problems and give advice as often as they need it. As we say, “Everyone who works in Laine’s who doesn’t serve the beer are there to support those who do.”
Our current Management Partners have produced some incredibly successful and innovative creations, such as games rooms, craft rooms, breweries and mini golf. We take pride in being a pub group that offer sites that are as different from each other as they are from the average Boozer.
Package
Negotiable upon experience. You will be expected to run your own business within the Laine Pub Company group, meaning that you benefit directly from your own success.
Candidate
If you are creative, energetic, organised, business minded and you love London, then perhaps you should be running one of the city’s premier venues. We could talk here about at least two years experience in a managerial/supervisory position, and yeah, that’s important, but just as crucial is that you are interesting and interested. A love of music, or perhaps a passion for art and design – it’s the appetite for sharing new things with your customers that we’re after. You’ll need to be creative, innovative and unwilling to let any detail go unchecked. Social media? Yeah, you’ll love that and know your way around Twitter and Instagram. You’ll have a desire to embrace the freedom that we give all our managers to put their own stamp on the pubs they run.
Key attributes
·Creativity
·Controlling the wet and dry GPs of the business.
·Working knowledge of labour control
·Responsible for driving sales within the bars, through developing new promotions and championing existing promotions.
·Responsibility for control of all liquor stock in order to decrease surplus deficit by conducting/managing daily line checks.
·Recruiting, training and developing your team to achieve their personal best.
·Time management/organisational skills
·Knowledge of live music management is preferred but not essential.
