Job Summary
The Big London Bake www.thebiglondonbake.com is seeking a new Head Baker to join our team! We are looking for one highly personable baker to join our team and journey, preferably someone who can start immediately in June.
If you love interacting with people, hosting a tent full of budding bakers, imparting your knowledge and skills on novice bakers and creating fantastic baked goods at a truly unique London location then keep reading.
The role will involve shift work Wednesday through till Sunday, with the occasional Mon/Tues for private bookings.
Key Tasks:

To lead and manage up to 30 novice bakers while creating a fun and relaxing environment.
To host a tent full of baking novices, introducing the event and interacting throughout.
To create recipes that will be followed by members of the public who attend our event.
To manage a team of assistants
To prepare / open and close the site during days of operation.
To provide demonstrations
Be hugely creative
Have experience across a wide range of baked goods from cake decorating/ pastry making / biscuits / macaroons etc.

Responsibilities and Duties
This role will be hugely diverse. With our pop up event you will be baker, customer facing, host, event manager and all round hero.

Open and Close the pop up
Manage stock and inventory
Follow all food and hygiene food and safety regulations.
Manage the arrival of customers
Time management of the event and shift changeover.
Hosting up to 30 customers in a friendly and fun manner, representing our brand brilliantly.
Preparing customers ingredients at the start of the day.
Creating new monthly recipes for the venue.
Briefing and managing assistant staff
Supplier management and relationship building.
Regularly providing event feedback to business owners.
Managing booking and arrival systems
Keeping up a positive buzz throughout the day, encouraging both staff and customers.

Qualifications and Skills
Previous Pastry Chef experience Essential.
