Hatch is looking for a new manager!
Do you have the skills to run Homerton’s best café/bar? Can you take the 2 year running timeout award winning café/bar to the next level?
Hatch has gathered an amazing community around it as well as attracting visitors from far away, Coffee and café food are our daytime mainstay with events galore, evening grub and some great drinks in the evening.
What you’ll need to do.
• Planning, assigning and directing work appraising performance, rewarding and providing corrective action.
• Report weekly to the owner and ensuring clear reporting of all activities and figures.
• Training employees on all aspects of service and selling techniques.
• Addressing complaints and resolving problems for both employees and guests
• Managing the financial aspects of the café/bar operation, including: operating the bar and cafe within the budget requirements, and successful identification of expense reduction through cost control.
• Performing any other job-related duties requested by the owner
• Ensuring that the bars operate efficiently quality requirements and standards.
• Monitoring the staff and providing a high degree of “Floor presence”.
• Continuously monitoring procedures for sanitation and cleanliness.
• Providing on-the-job training to improve your team’s current performance, and prepare them for advancement.
• Meeting with staff to review guest comments to implement revisions and improvements.
What we’d like from you.
• Strong knowledge of products, skills and service quality
• Know how to look after a great small team of staff
• 2 years management experience, either café or bar but preferably both.
• Ability to follow procedures
• Ability to keep a clean tidy, and safe working environment
• Willing to undertake training and personal development
• Adaptable personality working with a wide range of customers
• Flexibility and quick thinking to solve problems on the spot
• Competent with numeracy, technology and some social media
• Ability to work when required including some bank holidays.
