Our client, with a substantial property in Central London is looking for an experienced Handyman to be involved in the daily running of the home. Working within a small and close-knit team, the client is looking for someone with a good understanding of property management - able to tackle general maintenance themselves - as well as being happy to roll up their sleeves and assist with all areas of a busy household. Principal and family members in residence for up to six months of the year.
Hours: As required (working weekends)
Location: south kensington.
Salary: doe - up to £35,000
Start date: immediate.
Interviewing: Immediate.
Notes: dbs check required.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
General upkeep of a large town house
Daily walk through to ensure that all light bulbs etc are working.
Daily maintenance of electrics and plumbing.
Knowledge of new systems once installed
Liaison with Private Office for provision of contractors for larger jobs.
Purchasing and stock checks
Care of bricks and mortar
Cleaning windows
Painting
Carrying luggage when required
Keeping external terraces and areas clean.
Ad hoc errands and assisting the wider household team.
Candidates must be / have:
A British/EU passport
Able to be flexible with their time – this role will require much longer hours when the Principals are in residence.
Fluent English speaking
Previous experience in a private household or similar role.
Recent DBS check or willingness to undertake one.
Prior experience with older buildings (not listed)
