We are a small group of foodie grocery stores and a restaurant.
We have passion for excellent, seasonal produce. We bake our own sourdough in our Bishops Stortford site, butcher and pack well sourced meat, prepare, cook, pack our own range of ready meals, sandwiches and salads.
We have been dreaming of baking our own pastries and cakes for our stores for years and are now ready to roll!
The key lines we wish to focus on are
Donuts
Natas
Croissants and pastries (also interesting, fun and unique ones)
Brownie
Banana bread
Ice creams
Sweet and savoury brioche style buns
We are confident in these products as we have an excellent sales history with these but of course we are open to input from our chosen pastry chef also with any additions.
We are looking for someone with experience, talent and drive to help us make this part of the business the success we know it can be.
We will expect you to hire an assistant to cover days off and help achieve necessary volumes.
For the donuts, natas and some of the pastries we anticipate around 1,000 units of each per week.
We are offering a very competitive salary and also a profit share of the department which will be starting off with very respectable volumes so there is a good opportunity for someone disciplined and looking to benefit from a share of profits!
We would like input with the kitchen design also - we have the oven and mixer and a few worktops in place but willing to upgrade certain elements also for a better flow.
We would also like input for our restaurant dessert menu and for you to take the lead on these for some of the dishes (chocolate Tart, apple pie and sticky toffee currently)
The hours will be nights so we can ensure fresh deliveries every morning to our stores.
