Start Date: 13th July to 10th August
Days and Hours: London: Monday to Friday 1.00 am to 7.00pm. East Sussex: 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
Family pets: One cat
Accommodation: Support worker will be provided with their own flat when in East Sussex.
Thomas, 19, is a loving and affectionate young man with a brilliant sense of humour. He is very active, some of his favourite activities are yoga, cycling, swimming and going to the gym, but he does also enjoy relaxing and watching his DVDs! Thomas is autistic and has learning difficulties. He can sometimes become anxious and frustrated, but the family and his support workers have developed excellent strategies to help with this.
We are looking for a temporary support worker to support Thomas for a month during the summer holidays. Two weeks will be spent in London working with Thomas’ ABA tutors, so a knowledge of this therapy programme would be beneficial. The other two weeks will be in East Sussex at the family’s holiday home, where you will have the chance to spend time with Thomas doing fun activities.
This job will suit a confident and creative support worker who is able to engage with Thomas and also Muck in with the wider family needs where necessary. You will be a good team player and able to work with other professionals in Thomas’ team. A driver is essential and the family would prepare a Swimmer and a non-smoker.
Fantastic opportunity to work with a great young man and gain valuable skills while following an ABA therapy programme. This is a daily position and a separate flat is provided while in East Sussex. There will also be a chance to travel to France with the family on holiday from 18th August to 1st September.
