London University is seeking an experienced Grants Administrator to support at their Central London campus. This is a temporary role to start as soon as possible until the end of November and will pay between £14.00 and £16.00 per hour.The Grants Administrator will support the delivery of grants and the submission of new proposals. Duties include:To guide research staff through the submission process for research grants." Raise grant budget costing on research costing tools and ensure grant proposals are correctly budgeted." Liaise with staff to enable the submission and approval of all grant applications." Assist with the submission of Research Council's proposals" Update management reporting spread sheet for proposals and research grants spread sheets as needed." Maintain and update management reporting spread sheet for research grants" To support Research and the Senior Research and Contracts Administrator with setting out budgets for awarded projects." Monitor monthly expenditure on projects and update forecasting." To make purchase orders relating to projects." To generate reports for awarding institutions on project expenditure and progress usually on a monthly or quarterly basis." Liaise with awarders to ensure satisfactory reporting and handle enquiries.The ideal Grants Administrator will have the following knowledge, skills and experience:" Evidence of providing administrative support to senior staff within Higher Education" experience of supporting an office with a varied range of duties" Strong IT skills including MS Office and Excel skills including ability to build spreadsheets with formulas" Demonstrate the ability to present data in a variety of methods" Excellent communication skills with a good command of English (both orally and written)" Good time management skills and the ability to operate effectively with a busy and varied workload" The ability to work independently, proactively and as part of a team when required" experience or understanding of university funding administration" A familiarity with Research Councils and UK/international funding agencies" Knowledge of Full Economic Costing proposal tools (e.g. Worktribe) and J-ES" Previous experience of working in a university or research environment." experience of using oracle-based finance systemsONLY SHORT LISTED APPLICANTS WILL BE CONTACTED.
