We’re on a mission. We’re making London’s Canal Waters accessible to everyone.
We’ve launched the first and only self-drive boating experience in central London on our amazing canal network. GoBoat offers unique sustainable experiences with focus on social interaction and the feeling of freedom.
Customers are the captains of their own boat, charting their own adventure, joined by their own crew. GoBoats can carry up to eight people, and no previous boating experience required. The boats are powered by electric engines and designed to create a sociable atmosphere. Our boats serve as a breathing space in the city, and as a platform towards sustainable, fun and cultural experiences that can be enjoyed by all age groups. GoBoat is the perfect experience for any social occasion.
We’re looking for people who:
- Have strong customer service skills
- Are resourceful and seek out solutions to problems
- Want to work outdoors and on the water
- Are fun, enthusiastic and interesting
- Enjoy uncertainty and can handle a challenge
- Are flexible and rise to any challenge thrown their way
- Can work weekends as well as weekdays
Some boating experience is preferable, but not a requirement as training will be provided.
Crews anticipated activities:
• Core Responsibilities: Each day helping to open and close the business. Managing the whole customer journey, you’ll be welcoming guests, taking payments, outlining the rules of the canal, taking customers to the boats, training people how to use the boat, welcoming guests back to base, cleaning the boat, welcome new guests etc.
• Other Responsibilities: Selling the business to potential customers, engaging with customers, making people smile, promotion and answering queries online and on the phone.
• You will have the power to shape this young business. We want you to be involved in making this the best business possible. We want you to learn quickly and think about improvements. We hope we can work with you to make this an incredible experience for everyone.
• There are things you’ll be doing we haven’t even thought of yet! That’s why you need to be resourceful and able to seek out solutions to problems.

Both Co-Founders are focused and determined to make this an innovative, sustainable and successful business – and we want you to help!
Start Date: Hiring now! We currently plan to be open for customers until the 22nd October.
Shift patterns: We will be aiming to employ people for full day shifts, but there will also be half day shifts available. We will be allocating shifts on a staff Rota basis. We are open 7 days a week.
Pay: £8.50 per hour with potential for promotion and pay increases.
