Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) required for primary school in East London to start this month until the end of the academic year.

The ideal HLTA will have at least 2 years experience working with children in the 4-8 age range and hold the HLTA qualification. The school would also consider an exceptional Graduate Teaching Assistant who has already had some experience covering classes in a primary school and may have aspirations to be a primary school teacher in the future.

The HLTA role will include covering classes for teaches who are doing PPA across nursery, reception and Key Stage 1 classes, as well as taking intervention groups. As an experienced HLTA you will need to have experience of taking classes and covering lessons in the absence of the class teacher.

The ideal HLTA will be a confident teaching assistant with strong presence in the classroom and solid behaviour management will challenging children. You will also be required to work with your own initiative especially in the absence of the class teacher. You will not need to do any planning of lessons, these will be set for you.
