We are looking for Gate Line and Customer Service Individuals with excellent communication skills for Barking and Fenchurch Street:
To be considered for this role, you must live within 15 - 20 minutes travelling distance to Barking station and be willing (and able) to start at 06:00.
If you like meeting new people and helping passengers navigate their way on the busy network then this job is for you! You will be responsible for meeting passengers as they pass through our client's ticket barriers.
This role involves a lot of interaction with the customers as well as operating the ticket barriers and providing high levels of customer service.
The successful candidate will:
• Possess previous customer service experience within a similar position and be a clear communicator
• Be a naturally calm individual with the ability to adapt to changing demands and resolve difficult situations
• With a flexible and adaptable approach to work shift patterns - early mornings, afternoons and evenings - the more flexible you are, the more chance of getting work!
• Wear uniform (including name badge) and safety clothing as supplied, ensuring that your standard of appearance complies with the company standard and is high at all times.
Principal Accountabilities:
• Ensure the personal safety of yourself and that of others, including visitors and contractors at all times.
• Work as a member of a revenue protection team, carrying out automatic ticket gate duties
• Examine tickets, advise accordingly and pass any irregularities to a Revenue Protection Inspector (if available)
• Ensure ticket office queues are kept to a minimum
• Check the cleanliness and general environment of Automatic Ticket Gates and take appropriate action to rectify or report faults.
• Report anti-social behaviour at stations, in accordance with the company policy and Railway Byelaws, whilst maintaining train service performance.
• Any additional tasks as specified by your line manager.
Working Hours:
• PART TIME
• Monday to Sunday / various shift times
Pay Rate:
£8 / hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
Successful candidates MUST undergo strict D and A and CRB check.
