Historic Royal Palaces is looking for an experienced, qualified and visitor focused Gardens team leader to supervise an experienced team in maintaining and developing the important Fountain Garden section within the Historic landscape around Hampton Court Palace.

Fine lawns, Herbaceous borders and floral bedding are the key elements of this garden, all of which are maintained to high standards. You will be hands –on, working alongside your team and ensuring that the gardens are constantly delighting customers and providing the Grand formal setting for our Palace customers and an exceptional venue for the outdoor events using this area. Using modern machinery combined with traditional garden methods and forward planning is how we achieve our objectives and maintain the gardens reputation.

You will also be hands-on and responsible for your team’s health and safety, staff development, work scheduling and the security of all equipment while at the same time having one eye on anything else going on in the East Gardens. Floral bedding designs, maintaining team records and communicating through the internet will also be an important part of your role so IT skills will be needed.

We will expect you to have formal horticultural qualifications to level III and proven experience in managing a team. A full driving license, leadership training and PA1:PA6 certification would also be advantageous.

Pay range: PR9 £26,431 per annum
