Eastside Youth is a new youth work charity, that started in January 2022 and is based in East London aiming to change the lives of young people and has been set up in response to the massive and severe funding cuts and closures of youth services across East London, leaving young people with lack of services and feeling isolated in a time where young people already feel segregated from society with no real voice.
#YouthWorkChangesLives and at Eastside Youth we aim to facilitate that change by giving young people aged 11 to 19 years old based in East London the tools and skills to lead active and independent lives by providing interactive and engaging structured youth activities, training opportunities and support that will help improve their physical, mental, emotional, social and educational well-being.
We are looking for someone to join us as our Fundraising Coordinator for a few hours per week to lead on the fundraising aspects of Eastside Youth, helping to generate income for our services and work across East London, especially for our youth work projects. As this is a new role and a new department you will also be responsible for setting up systems and processes to ensure that fundraising is at the forefront of our role, with the possibility of recruiting an assistant to support you in the fundraising aspects, as well as volunteer fundraisers and helpers.
We need someone who is approachable, friendly and solution focused, who is able to get things done with little supervision who can work well alone or within a team, who is able to manage their own workloads and is able to coach, support and be the point of contact for donors and funders, as well as volunteers supporting you in the fundraising team.
This role offers an amazing opportunity for someone interested in a youth work charity, fundraising/income generation, new charities or making a positive impact in the community and for young people.
Duties Include:
1. Coordinating the fundraising programme, including setting up the programme with the support of our Founder/CEO and the Board of Trustees.
2. Writing funding bids/grant applications.
3. Sourcing donors/funders and funding/income to ensure Eastside Youth can continue its work, expand and increase its profile.
4. Organising fundraising activities and events, to generate income, working with our Communications and Social Media Officer to increase interest and funds.
5. Sending out sponsorship/donation letters to corporations or businesses for support such as funds, donations in kind or prizes to give away in Raffles, etc.
6. Monitor and track donations and funders and maintain an excellent communication and professional relationship to enhance chances of future funding and support.
7. Lead on and assist in the development of a fundraising strategy and work plan.
8. Look at ways to make fundraising/supporting Eastside Youth more attractive and rewarding, such as awards, supporters lunch or day etc.
9. Other duties involved in coordinating a fundraising department.
Time Commitment and Work Location:
This role would ideally be approximately. 2-5 hours per week commitment, managed flexibly and with some remote/home based working to fit around your work/life responsibilities.
