Hello.
We are looking for a energetic, organised and fun au pair to join our family. We are a family of 4 – mum, dad, an 8 year old girl and a 5 year old boy. We live in Clapham, a safe and friendly area in South West London. We are a five minute walk from the tube station, from which there are regular tube trains running into central London. We both work full time and the children are at the local primary school Both children are energetic, love sports, music and having fun. We live in a 5 bedroom terraced house. The area is full of families, many with au pairs, is very safe and quiet but has the advantage that it is easy and quick to get into central London (approximately. 20 minutes). Nearby we have a large park, shops and a selection of cafes and restaurants.
We would like an enthusiastic, optimistic au pair who is full of energy with a can do attitude. We need someone who is independent and positive in their attitude towards children. Being a non-smoker is essential. Language courses are available at a local college. Our previous au pair stayed for many years.
Start date: as soon as possible
Duration: Someone who can be with us for a minimum of 9 months – ideally longer, previously people have stayed with us a few years.
Hours: On average 30- 35 hours / week, sole care – hours will be mainly be 3pm - 7pm during term time plus two mornings and occasional evening babysitting. There will be lots of time available in the day to attend language classes. In school holidays we may need extra hours which will be paid back either in extra days off or additional money.
Duties:
Collect children from school Mon – Fri
After school help with homework, play games, preparing healthy evening meals. The children often have friends back to our home after school. It is important you are organised for the homework.
We have a cleaner so do not expect you to do any heavy cleaning but we do expect help keeping the house tidy – helping children tidy up Toys, putting away their clean laundry, changing bedsheets, tidying the kitchen after meals, emptying the dishwasher. We would also like you to iron for the family and hoover downstairs once a week.
Organising their school bags and sports kit.
Evening babysitting (approximately. 1 evenings / week with lots of prior notice)
What we will offer:
Board and lodging. You will have your own good sized double bedroom with a king sized bed and a TV. The toilet and shower room is next door to your bedroom and is mainly for your use. You will have WiFi access in your room. We will provide all your food provided in the house. We provide Kitty money to cover other small food items. We cover council tax and utility bills.
Pocket money - negotiable depending upon experience and qualifications.
A phone and contract or if you already have a contract a contribution towards your monthly bill.
4 Weeks holiday a year(including bank holidays) – holidays to be mutually agreed. We can be flexible if you want to take a long weekend to travel.
