We are a family of five, and now have two working parents and need an experienced full time, live out nanny to look after our three boys during the week. We need care between the hours of 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday. We live in Leytonstone in east London.
We would happily consider a nanny share.
They are 5, 3 and 1 years old. The eldest is at school, 8.45am to 3pm, the 3 year old at nursery 12pm-3pm and the toddler requires care all day. The school and nursery are at the same place, 0.3 miles from our house. We do not have any pets.
Duties include:
1) School and Nursery drop off and collection.
2) Preparing and serving the boys meals: Breakfast, lunch for the younger 2, dinner for all.
3. We can initially assist with this regarding planning etc.
3) Light housework - we have a cleaner who comes once per week to clean the whole house (dusting, vacuuming, cleaning toilets etc), therefore specifically we would expect general day-to-day mess to be cleaned and tidied, food utensils and crockery to be cleaned and ensure Toys are tidied away, etc. The children can be involved in this as we encourage them to take responsibility for mess.
4) Laundry - washing, hanging out and putting clothes away, changing children's sheets, occasional ironing, periodically sorting out clothes and tidying drawers.
5) Take the younger 2 out in the morning, arrange occasional after school activities for all 3- e.g. Parks, play dates, trips, classes, sports etc. Reading / homework after school.
We will pay £12 per hour gross for 8am to 6pm, five days per week.
We will put in place a formal contract detailing the hours, sick pay, etc and will contribute to a work place pension. Included is 20 days paid leave each year, 10 of which should be taken at the same time as us.
There may be opportunity to earn additional money through occasional evening babysitting and that can be arranged separately, however there is no obligation for this.
We are looking for a confident individual, who is not dominated by the children and is not afraid to be firm when appropriate. We try and encourage individualism in our children, however expect them to be told if they are misbehaving and being unreasonable. We are not disciplinarians nor do we let the children run riot do what they want all the time therefore someone who can use reasonable judgement and have fun with them would be ideal! We fully appreciate that there will be an settling in period as we get to know one another and we are very much prepared to work together at the outset to set expectations and ensure common understanding in order to start off from the best place possible.
Ideally, we are looking for a long term commitment and long term references would be required.
For those interested, we would like to see some details of experience etc, perhaps have a telephone conversation then have a face-to-face meeting to ask questions and talk more about the expectations of the role etc.
We are keen to have someone start as soon as possible.
