Hours:
9am to 7pm 5 days a week (Monday to Friday). Occasional baby-sitting on weekdays or weekends by agreement.
Essential requirements:
-Proficiency in English
-experience with infants (we are expecting our second child in January 2022)
-Recent DBS check and up to date first aid course
-Non smoker from a non smoking household

What we are looking for:
We’re looking for a nanny to take care of our son. He’ll be 21 months old,
and we’re hoping to have a second baby in 2022, so we’ll also need help with
them (when / if they appear!) The position is mainly ‘sole charge’ but we often
work from home (depending on work) so some weeks is in and out of the house.
Our son is a very happy chappy. He’s extremely enthusiastic and laughs a lot,
particularly at our cat.
These are some things that he takes very very seriously:
- Dancing. He is an incredibly intense dancer. He knows lots of actions
to songs, but is not afraid to freestyle.
- Balls. No ball goes unnoticed.
- Trains and Buses - as above.
- Food. Particularly anything with tomato relish.
- Personal Grooming. He spends a long time styling his hair and enjoys
a good pampering session.
- Jazz FM.
Our son really enjoys messy play activities (especially in water - this week he got so
involved in the messy play tray that he had to change into his swimsuit). He also loves cooking (aka “mix mix”) and climbing in and over things.
We’re looking for a nanny with a lot of imagination and initiative. Anything you
love - music, nature, art etc - we’d love you to share with him. We’re really
supportive of you trying new things with him and doing activities you both enjoy.
We’d also like someone who enjoyed cooking - to introduce him to lots of tastes
and flavours (so far, he’s not too fussy - though we know that could all change!)
The area we live in is great for kids. We
also have lots of other local friends with kids who come over to play and go to the
park.
There are some great child-friendly museums and city farms which are easy to
get to, and lots of local playgroups, playgrounds and activity sessions within
walking distance. If you’d like to go further afield, our son is quite good at snoozing
in his buggy, and enjoys a good day out.
At home, our son has a big bright nursery / playroom with lots of books and Toys
(though he prefers to look out the window and watch what the fox is up to in our
neighbour’s garden). We’re very open to advice and routines that you think would
help his development and look forward to reading his daily nanny book.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am til 7pm (but these
hours can be flexible, depending on our jobs- we always give as much notice as
possible). Some travel for business may be required.
Our home is located under 15 minutes walk from Brockley, Ladywell, Lewisham,
Crofton Park and St John stations. There’s also a bus stop directly outside our
house (484 bus). We overlook a lovely park (Hilly Fields) with an excellent
playground and sandpit.
Duties:
- Physical care of our son
- Supporting and providing activities for the holistic development of our son
- Communicating with parents on all aspects of the care of our son
- Complete daily nanny diary
- Providing well balanced and nutritious meals
- Taking our son to playgroups
- Taking our son to outings appropriate to his age and stage of development
- Preparing for special occasions such as birthday parties
- Caring for our son when he is unwell and administering medicine(s)
- Travelling with our son and preparing for holidays, weekend visits, etc.
- Cleaning and tidying his bedroom and other areas agreed with the parents
- Cleaning, laundering and mending clothes and Toys
- Responsibility for cleaning and maintaining household equipment relating to the care of our son
- Ability to use and maintain all equipment related to the care of our son e.g. Buggies and car seats
- Make sound judgments when purchasing items from the nanny purse, obtain a receipt and provide a fully detailed expenses list weekly.
Pay dependent on experience.
If you believe you meet the above requirements, email CV detailing experience, suitability and pay expectation.
