The wedding galley café prides itself on British seasonal ingredients with accents of Europe and beyond, using only the finest produce. The wedding galley Café is the perfect location to enjoy Breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea.
The café is operated in by the wedding gallery in partnership with Eatbrit LTD who also operates an award winning restaurant in Mayfair and a café within Harrods and a high volume event catering company.
Full time Junior Chef required
A junior primary role is to input the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes to the company standard and following strict health and hygiene regulations at all times
Mains duties and responsibilities
• Working with the Executive Chef and Kitchen manager and the kitchen team to maintain high standards in the quality of food both as to its preparation and its presentation
• Working in all areas of the kitchen depending on the daily needs of the kitchen manager Preparation of a whole range of food.
• To observe all Company Food Hygiene and Health and Safety policy
• To set out, maintain and monitor high standards of cooking and presentation
• Ensuring that all completed foods are correctly wrapped, labelled and put in out-fridge for each event
• To ensure that all completed jobs are fully checked off before shift ends.
• Controls cost by minimizing spoilage, waste, proper storage and exercising strict portion control
• Ensure that cost control policies and procedures are followed
• Ensures freshness and suitability of products used by the section and that they are stored properly
• Ensures smooth running of the section during service.
Person Specification:
Essential Criteria:
• Significant experience working in a fresh food restaurant / café / gastro pub environment
• Be a hard working person with a can do attitude
• Excellent level of communication in the English language
• Committed to providing excellent customer service
• Be passionate about real wholesome food
• Professional attitude
• Calm, patient and polite manner
• Flexibility
• Ability to work well within a team and also under own initiative
• Ability to manage workload unsupervised

Desirable Criteria:
• NVQ qualifications (or equivalent) in Food Preparation will be an advantage

Salary: £8.00 per hour Plus service commission
Required experience:
