Essential: experience / awareness of supporting a client with ABI, strong baby experience.
Start Date:  as soon as possible
Days and Hours: Friday – Sunday 8:00am – 8:00pm.

Our client is 19 years old and has an acquired brain injury. She is due to have her first baby in the next few weeks and we are looking for an experienced nanny to support her to look after her baby boy. Our client can feel overwhelmed and anxious at times so will need support and encouragement.
Your role would be to assist our client with all nursery duties, set up a routine for the baby, guide her and support her with all tasks involving the baby.  You will help equip the client with parenting skills and best childcare practices.
Your role will include encouraging the client to attend to such duties as keeping the house tidy, doing laundry, ironing and meal preparation, but you may need to carry out such tasks if the client is unable to do so. The family have a regular cleaner to attend to the general household cleaning. You will encourage the client to attend various baby classes, research appropriate activities, ensure appointments are attended and ensure the baby is safe at all times. Our client has her own full time support worker and there will also be a maternity nanny who you’ll work alongside for the first few weeks.
You will need excellent communication skills to support the client being a mother, in a calm and competent way and provide any guidance needed. You will need to be confident to ensure appropriate childcare is being provided and keep detailed record keeping. You will be working closely with the family and several other professionals involved.
