Ella is a gorgeous, sweet and extremely lovable 12 month old who loves babbling, classical music and receiving lots of cuddles and attention. She has a big brother called Monty who is 3 years old. Ella arrived in the world at 34 weeks, she has Cerebral Palsy and until very recently was fed via her Nasal Gastric tube. Following specialist treatment abroad, Ella has started to take her feeds orally and is in the process of transitioning from NGT to oral feeds.
The position involves working closely with the family, supporting them with Ella’s early interventions and becoming fully engaged with both children’s daily routines. This will include therapy and hospital appointments, researching activities and bringing new ideas to the table, whilst using a fun and creative approach. Mum is very receptive to new ideas, so someone who is happy to throw ideas back and forth will be very welcome. Working on and supporting Ella’s developmental skills and assisting with her targets, goals and development milestones will be key.
This job will suit someone who is quietly confident, energetic and extremely caring, with a good sense of humour. You must have at least 2 years prior experience supporting babies or young children and have a keen interest in therapy intervention. The family love to take the children on holiday together so finding someone who is willing to accompany them will be a big advantage. This family has a strict no smoking policy due to their daughter’s historic respiratory problems.
This is a wonderful opportunity to join a strong family network who are at the beginning of their journey.
