COMMIS CHEF AT THE TABLE CAFE
WHO WE ARE
We were the first new restaurant planted in Bankside ten years ago by world-renowned architects Allies and Morrison to begin the urban regeneration of the neighbourhood. We have grown and evolved alongside all the new businesses and homes ever since. Sustainability and local sourcing has remained an essential part of who we are as well as close collaborations with local charities and the community. We like to think of ourselves as a great little local restaurant and believe all who join us do so too.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
This is an fantastic opportunity to work with a talented, motivated team in one of London's few chef/owner operated restaurants.
We'll teach you all aspects of the kitchen, while producing delicious food made with the freshest locally sourced sustainable ingredients. You will experience life as a chef in a high volume kitchen from the ground up. We make everything we possibly can in-house and if we don't we only use small local suppliers to do so.
We offer great training and development to evolve your skills and further your career. Benefits include a share of tronc, meals while on duty, 28 days’ holiday, and a cycle to work scheme. We pay a minimum of £8 per hour.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Above all else we expect you to work hard, be mindful and do good.
• To ensure a clean and safe working environment in the kitchen.
• To produce high quality fresh British dishes keeping up with the high pace and volume of The Table Cafe.
• To produce menu items for service co-ordinating with other departments, maintaining the highest standards and always adhering to the spec to achieve the correct quality, appearance and portion size.
• To keep all kitchen and food preparation areas immaculately clean at all times.
• To follow the health and safety procedures in place and to maintain all machinery and equipment appropriately in line with completed risk assessments and training.
• To follow the correct cleaning procedure using correct products and to be fully aware of the proper storage of products as require
WHAT WE NEED
This is a FULL TIME positions which require applicants that are:
• Able to work a mixture of shifts that will include early mornings, evenings and weekends
• Flexible and open to work six shifts a week
• Fluent in English
• It will be advantageous to have any recognised formal cooking qualification
