We are a busy independent pizza restaurant based in Forest Hill, South London, serving great quality sourdough pizza. We are now looking for a full-time Assistant Manager to join our Team.
An ideal candidate would be someone that has an experience of working in high paced environment, is very customer focused and has held a Supervisor role in the past or is an outstanding waiting staff that wishes to progress to the next level.
We are looking for someone that is people-focused, friendly, energetic, passionate, hard-working, and wants to be a part of a dynamic team. Great attention to detail and people skills are essential.
During the week, the Restaurant is opened only in the evenings with shifts regularly finishing at 11pm (occasionally even later), therefore someone that lives locally or has a reasonable travel distance would be an ideal fit for the job
The role is very hands-on and main responsibilities include:
• organising and assigning roles to wait staff during shift
• ensuring that opening and closing procedures are followed; carrying out beginning and end of service inspection of all areas, check that restaurant is ready for service and health and safety rules are complied with
• liaison with kitchen regarding daily specials
• to ensure any required staff training is carried out and records updated
• to deal with the occasional customer complaints
• remain in charge in the absence of the manager and to be present throughout service for both customers and staff
• to identify and report to managers instances of wastage and lapses in quality, ensuring that diner feedback and cost of sales targets are met
• wait on tables alongside staff and manager
