Beef and Brew is about to open its second site, this time in Hackney in a pub site. It’s a restaurant pub, so we’re looking for a team that can do justice to both: a restaurant, with a great bar, stocked with interesting beer, wine and cocktails.
Our food menu will evolve to suit the environment. We’ll continue to have a high quality menu, with a focus on affordable steaks, but there will be more sides, bar snacks and the odd seafood dish too.
We want a great working environment, with a confident, talented and knowledgeable team. Work should be fun, as well as serious. We’re not fans of the old school military environment; we want a self-motivated, interested group that can deliver a great service to our customers.

Bar manager £30k
You should have the following skill set:
experience running a busy bar and the associated team leadership skills.
Have excellent customer service skills.
Good knowledge of beer, the London beer scene, local breweries and the intricacies of running a cellar. This should include experience maintaining draught beer gross margins.
experience designing rotas, ensuring cleanliness and all other aspects of running and maintaining a bar.
Front of house assistant manager £25-27.5k (or equivalent hourly rate)
You should have the following skill set:
At least 12 months’ experience as a waiter, preferably 2 years.
Be able to offer excellent customer service under pressure with strong interpersonal skills.
Have good food and drink knowledge and a passion to learn.
experience running a restaurant’s front of house operation in the absence of the manager.
High standards of cleanliness and experience designing cleaning rotas.
experience dealing with difficult customers.
Waiters
You should have the following skill set:
At least 6 months’ experience as a waiter with a focus on customer service.
Be able to offer excellent customer service under pressure with excellent interpersonal skills.
High standards of cleanliness.
