Beef and Brew is about to open its second site, this time in Hackney ,in a pub location. It is a restaurant bar, so we are looking for a team that can do justice to both aspects of what will offer: a restaurant, with a great bar, stocked with interesting Beers, wine and cocktails.
Our food menu will evolve to suit the environment: we’ll continue to have a high quality menu, with a focus on affordable steaks, but there will be more sides, bar snacks and the odd seafood dish too.
We want a great working environment, with a confident, talented and knowledgeable team. Work should be fun, as well as serious. We’re not fans of the old school military environment; we want a self-motivated, interested group that can deliver a great service to our customers.

Head barman £25-27.5k
You should have the following skill set:
- experience running a busy bar and the associated team leadership skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good knowledge of beer, the London beer scene, local breweries and the intricacies of running a cellar. This should include experience maintaining draught beer gross margins.
- experience designing rotas, ensuring cleanliness and all other aspects of running and maintaining a bar.
Front of house manager £30-35k (or equivalent hourly rate)
You should have the following skill set:
- At least 12 months’ experience as a waiter, preferably 2 years.
- Be able to offer excellent customer service under pressure with strong interpersonal skills.
- Have good food and drink knowledge and a passion to learn.
- experience running a restaurant’s front of house operation in the absence of the operations manager.
- High standards of cleanliness and experience designing cleaning rotas.
- experience dealing with difficult customers.
Waiters
You should have the following skill set:
- At least 6 months’ experience as a waiter with a focus on customer service.
- Be able to offer excellent customer service under pressure with excellent interpersonal skills.
- High standards of cleanliness.
