The IKEA procurement function is a global network with more than 500 co-workers located in Älmhult, Malmö, Wiesbaden, Philadelphia and Shanghai and in most countries where IKEA operates. As part of our strategic plan for 2022 we are looking to expand the procurement team here at IKEA.  We are looking at a number of key areas for future growth one being within our purchasing team as Food Purchaser.  IKEA Food’s role is to attract visitors to the stores, encouraging IKEA store visitors to stay longer and enjoy more, offering great food with quality at the lowest prices, giving visitors a tasty reason to return again and again.  As Food Purchaser you will be based from London, working across countries and regions in a global IKEA network that opens up for many possibilities. You will represent a strong brand with a big social and environmental responsibility and you will be in the forefront to drive change.
Role Responsibilities – Food Purchaser
-Support the UK and IE organisation of IKEA Food with the purchase of the local range of food products.
- Lead sourcing for local products in the national IKEA Food range.
- Ensuring suppliers comply with all IKEA requirements on quality and sustainability, including animal welfare.
- Have the responsibility of leading purchase projects from the very start to the final agreements together with our stakeholders at IKEA Retail Food according to set purchase process.
Required Skills – Food Purchaser
- Degree qualified within Business school, Food processing/agricultural engineering school, or corresponding knowledge and work experience.
- Significant and proven track record from food purchasing activities, food purchasing procedures and food safety regulations.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to build and maintain good relationships with people possessing a strong business mind set.
- Highly skilled in procurement projects and driving business on a global level with multiple business partners.
- Desire and ability to perform well in an open-minded, straightforward culture, sharing the IKEA values.
