Our production kitchen turns handfuls of the freshest ingredients into delicious, handmade, vegan meals, delivered to our customers’ doorsteps. Each of our plant-powered dishes is developed by nutritionists, made craveable by chefs, and blast frozen, ready for our customer's to cook fast on busy evenings.
Our recipes have been carefully developed for scale, refined for freezing, and tasted by 1000s - with new dishes and dish-types hitting the menu every month. This is cutting-edge culinary territory with a fast-growing and hungry audience, and allplants is already shaping up to be an award winning leader in the future of food.

the role.
You will take full responsibility for all Kitchen Units - owning ordering, goods-in, preparation, cooking, finishing, freeze and the packaging of all meals - making each dish to our exacting taste and quality standards.
To succeed in this role:
- you must be energetic and enthusiastic with a real passion for great food, experienced in chef and quality management and enjoy building and maintaining Slick operations.
- you will run a tight production operation to deliver and scale daily production yields, hit target costings and apply a sharp attention to process, detail and quality.
- you will have clear expectations of what you want from each team member (from KP to sous-chef), understand how to get the best out of your people, and bring experience at hiring, coaching, and nurturing staff to develop a team that you are proud and confident to lead.
- you will collaborate with our ops and technical teams to continuously map and refine production processes: improving prep, cook, freezing and plating stages; and, identifying new equipment, space, people, supplier and process needs.
- you will work closely with the Company Founders to set future Food Production strategy and input on new product development and broader company direction.
- you will lead by example, sleeves-up and prepping or cooking wherever necessary, with a masterful understanding of every cut-size, cook-time, sauce thickness and plating finish - always ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen and consistent quality products, while looking out for others and guiding them.

your skills and experience.
The ideal applicant will:
- Be an experienced chef, who has run a busy production environment for a minimum of 12 months, ideally +36 months within major contract catering or premium hand-made production kitchens (e.g. Bighams, Cook, Bakkavor, Kerry Foods, large hotels or CPUs).
- Ideally has worked in a similar cook-freeze, cook-chill and/or food production environment.
- Passionate about great food, Slick operations and consistently brilliant flavours.
- Takes pride in achieving the highest levels of cleanliness and health and safety.
- Organisational beast, thriving on getting things done, continuously learning and improving quality, culture and systems.
- Top communicator, enhancing the team by listening, offering direction and speaks up when something is wrong or jeopardising production or quality.
- Energy, enthusiasm, positive, commitment and a can-do attitude.
- Thrives in an environment that is based on the production kitchen floor.
- Embraces change and challenge.
- Great sense of humour.
- All applicants will require a UK bank account, a NI number, proof of eligibility to work in the UK and be able to speak English fluently.
- NVQ level 1, 2 and 3, HACCP Level 2 and Food Safety Certifications.
