Job Title: Food and Beverage Team Leader
Reports To: Food and Beverage Manager/Assistant Food and Beverage Manager
Purpose:
• To oversee the day to day running of the Food and Beverage operation at Warren House.
• To liaise with the wider Warren House teams and their leaders in order to drive the efficiency of the F and B Operations at all times
• To ensure the team have the correct and enough equipment in order to achieve their jobs.
• To help motivate the team, liaise and ensure is organised and set out in short-term and long-term plans.
• To support the Operations Manager to make sure the team is driven and achieving what we expect.
• To make sure all areas in the department have plans and objectives in place in order to make sure all guest expectations are exceeded.
• To create flexible rotas for all team members with the profitability of Warren House in mind and coordinate these rotas with the Operations Manager
• To be totally customer focused by consistently delivering excellent customer service with an informed, friendly and effective approach and leading from the front to set an example for other team leaders and team members.
• To take control and ownership for the efficient running of the F and B department within the overall policies and controls established by the company and General Manager/Operations Manager, ensuring that Warren House values and standards are delivered and budgeted profitability achieved.
• To make sure Health and Safety regulations and team implications are met and constantly monitored and that at all times a high standard of cleanliness and practices are maintained, thereby ensuring all statutory legislation is met.
• To help the Operations Manager in generating a consumer led product, thereby stimulating F and B sales throughout Warren House.
• To promote the Company Mission Statement through continual demonstration of the Warren House culture.
Principal Accountabilities:
1) Organisation of the Restaurant, Bar, Meeting and Banqueting areas
2) Communication to all team members, team leaders, other departments and management
3) Motivating the team and driving them forward with clear objective setting and briefings
4) Maintaining standards and ensuring guests expectations are exceeded.
5) Ensuring delivery is on time and in a controlled manner
6) Performance Management of all Team members
7) Control of payroll of the Restaurant Team through rotaring, recruitment and reviews
8) To act as Duty Manager in accordance with Duty Manager Rota
9) Ensuring Health and Safety Legislation and procedures are adhered to
10) Efficient communication of all Health and Safety aspects to the F and B team
11) Attend monthly F and B meetings and implement action points and training
12) Ensuring all budgetary requirements are met and exceeded: Payroll, Direct F and B costs, GPs, F and B COS and upselling.
13) Responsibility for all F and B Stocks; stocktakes, stock control and security of stock
14) Computer literate and able to use necessary systems to operate the F and B team
15) Efficient use of Pelican Stocktake and Ordering Systems
16) Proficient in Visual 1 and Info Genesis
17) Co-ordination of all third-party internet booking agents for F and B like bookatable
18) Participate in monthly F and B meetings led by the General Manager/Operations Manager
19) Participate in the F and B forecast requirements
20) To comply with statutory and company requirements for Health and Safety, Risk Assessment, Disability and all employment legislation and ensure team members are trained accordingly.
21) To attend training when required.
22) To be fully aware of and strictly adhere to Fire, Bomb and Health and Safety procedures. To be fully aware of and comply with Warren House and company rules and regulations as identified in the team member handbook.
23) To act as the Warren House Guest Relations Manager as required, ensuring a professional and friendly service throughout the venue.
24) To keep yourself informed of the venue’s goals and objectives and those of other departments, maximising the role you play in delivering the hotel budgeted targets.
Candidate Qualities:
1) Motivating nature not only towards the F and B team members but also with other team members from other departments
2) Good discipline to maintain the standards set and budget objectives set.
3) Calm under pressure and able to show a professional image at all times.
4) Great Guest Relations ambassador for Warren House
5) Delegation skills needed for the flexible and efficient running of the F and B Department
6) Ability to train and develop the F and B Team in order to get an efficient and flexible F and B team to meet all areas of the business at Warren House
7) Oversee a varied team of skilled and unskilled team members to create flexibility, efficiency and a high performing team so that all Key Performance Indicators set are met.
8) Personal License Holder
Additional Information:
1) Contracted 45 hours a week, additional hours as needed to cover business demands
2) Additional hours needed for the flexible, safe and efficient running of the F and B operations are part of this role and no additional payment will be received for the additional hours unless it is on a 6th or 7th day within a working week
3) Lieu days are accrued after working a 6th or 7th day
4) Lieu days accrued will have to be taken within 3 months of the accrual
5) Varied shift patterns over a 5 day out of 7 weekly rotas covering breakfast lunch, dinner and banquets according to the customer’s needs.
6) Bank holidays and other festive days are key in the running of the F and B Operations and you are required to be available for these key days
7) Receive 6 monthly a pro-rata share of the Gratuities Balance. This is taxed at source and according to your own tax code.
