OBJECTIVE Oversee and direct all aspects of the gym floor and House studios, which shall include but not be limited to the following; reception, changing rooms, housekeeping, maintenance and studio coordination. RESPONSIBILITIES The Ned Knowledge • Be familiar with Ned’s Club and non-member facilities.• Be familiar with the Ned’s rules and regulations for members and guests. • Be familiar with current licensing regulations. Administration • Be fully conversant with, and be able to sell and promote all services and facilities available to guests/members. • Prepare rotas for gym assistants and spa and gym attendants. • Prepare departmental holiday schedules in line with business levels. • Create and implement procedures for changing room management. • Conduct daily checks of all areas to ensure standards are monitored and upheld. • Ensure all VIP requests are dealt with accurately, and that every effort is taken to ensure they receive the appropriate service. • To be fully conversant with all FOH and BOH departmental procedures. • To carry out regular Duty Management shifts. • To assist with monthly stock takes and record data accordingly. Financial Aspects • Be fully aware of the various methods of payment accepted by the company. • Prepare and submit statistical information relating to classes, gym footfall and personal training. • Monitor front desk activities with regards to rebates, billing instructions, discounted rates in compliance with Ned’s policy. • Complete daily and weekly actual Fourth input. • Amend rotas to meet weekly budgets. Training and Team Development • Monitor and identify training needs within the Gym Assistants and Spa and Gym Attendant departments. • Ensure/develop formal training plans for the gym and fitness team to meet identified needs. • Ensure that regular training sessions are being carried out. • Ensure that departmental training records are kept up to date. • Ensure that all employees attend training sessions. • Monitor and update training manuals and departmental On Boarding manuals as and when required. • Ensure all new employees are fully inducted into the department. • Conduct selection interviews for all potential new staff as and when required. Miscellaneous • Monitor all aspects of guest and member experience to ensure they receive prompt cordial attention and personal recognition. • Communicate with other departments on matters which concern them. • Establish and monitor effective employee relations. • Schedule and regularly conduct routine inspections of equipment and areas associated with the gym. • Maintain appropriate standards of conduct, dress, hygiene, uniforms, appearance and posture of all departmental employees. • Ensure all maintenance is reported and followed up with in a timely fashion. Guest and Public Relations • Create and maintain a personal and respectful rapport with regular guests. • To deal personally with complaints and feedback. Health and Safety • Ensure that all potential and real hazards are reported immediately and rectified. • To be fully conversant with all departmental and company fire and emergency procedures. • Ensure that all staff within the department work in a manner which is safe and unlikely to give risk of harm or injury to selves or others. • Stimulate and encourage a general awareness of health and safety in relation to all tasks and activities undertaken in the department. • Ensure that the highest standards of personal hygiene are maintained by all members of the department. • Be fully conversant with the hotel and company security procedures. GENERAL DUTIES • Ensure that the reception desk is always manned during operational hours. • Attend any meetings or training sessions and courses as required. • Assist fellow employees to perform similar or related jobs as and when necessary. • Ensure guest satisfaction. • Clean and maintain the work area, materials, and equivalent, to report defective materials and equipment to GM.
