Post: Finance Officer Salary: GBP28,000 to GBP30,000 Hours per week: 37.5 hours per week Duration: Maternity cover to 30 May 2022A Charity based in Dalston, are currently seeking a Finance Officer to join their team.The role of the Finance Office is to work with budget holders to produce robust financial operational data analysis, maintain the KPIs and identify discrepancies.As Finance Office your duties will include the following:Primary Duties* To provide strategic financial support and modelling skills to the Society* To assist with the month-end/year end process* To carefully model and assist in the development of commercial ventures* To support the payroll process and act as cover when staff are on leave.* To manage the cash flow effectively* To run the sales ledger and credit control Additional Duties and key tasks* To provide commercially orientated financial support to budget holders including support to help them deliver on financial objectives* To implement and run the new credit card and staff expenses process.* Ensure all reports inform the Society's differing audiences and assist in the financial management of the society.* To introduce and embed efficient financial practises across the charity.* Ensure capital grants and restricted funds are correctly accounted for.* To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of the Society's learners/clients and all other children and young people/vulnerable adults that have contact with the organisation.* To undertake quarterly VAT submissions* To assist with requests for information to support fundraising bids* To assist with the month-end and year-end process* To support the Community Services team to monitor project expenditure against budget Professional qualifications* Qualified/ Part Qualified Accountant* Skills, Knowledge and experience Essential* experience in an advanced accounting package* High level of accountancy knowledge.* Knowledge of financial management and procurement best practice* Excellent excel and modelling skills* Understanding of financial modelling principles and its organisational impact* Detail-conscious* Good written and verbal communication skills* Ability to provide financial analysis and reports for a wide range of audiences* Ability to build good relationships internally and with statutory agencies and external auditors Desirable* Knowledge of NAV* Knowledge of payroll software and processes* Writing of committee reports and minute taking.* General understanding of client group About our client"Our vision - No child in the UK will grow up to be poor or lonely just because they are blind.Our success depends on our values Underpinning all of the charities work are values embedded in trust and excellence.
