This may include, providing management cover in the absence of Hostel / Deputy Managers, or supporting new Hostel Managers in carrying out their role effectively. This role is ideal for individuals seeking personal development and provides the perfect opportunity to expand your skills, knowledge and confidence in all aspects of hospitality and management. This will provide the tools needed to become a Deputy Manager or Hostel Manager. Please note: This role requires extensive travel throughout our Hostel Network, so a driving License and own transport is required. Accommodation and expenses will be provided during your placements. Responsibilities:*Providing network-wide (England and Wales) short and medium term cover to hostel teams.*Ensuring excellent customer service is maintained*Ownership of standards of cleanliness throughout the hostel*Managing, developing and motivating hostel teams*Establishing and maintaining great relationships with internal and external stakeholders*Continually seeking areas for improvement to the overall products and service within the hostel*Ensuring the maintenance of the building remain to the highest possible standard*Support and coach new Hostel Managers in carrying out their roles*Responsible for compliance, management and delivery of all Health and Safety standards experience required:*Ability of/able to demonstrate, management of teams.*Previous experience of working within the hospitality industry*able to demonstrate knowledge of current tourist industry standards*Knowledge and understanding of YHA and its customer base*Proven ability to manage fast paced environments, where there may be significant peaks in work load demands*Understanding of software management systems and/or proficient in basic computer skills*Good numeracy and literacy skills*Highly developed verbal and written communication skills*Driving licence (essential) as the role will involve regional working as well as travelling to Hostels throughout the network at short notice.
