Aisha is a delightful 10-year-old who enjoys water / bath time, long drives in the car, playing on her iPad, watching Peppa Pig, singing and music. Aisha has cerebral palsy and epilepsy and requires assistance to meet all her daily needs. She uses hoists to transfer, has Gastrostomy feeds and is wheelchair user. Aisha is unable to verbally communicate but can hear you and responds with facial expressions, noises and smiles.
Our client is seeking a dedicated support worker who will spend time with Aisha carrying out enjoyable activities many of which will be sensory-based. You’ll incorporate some physio stretches using a fitness ball which Aisha enjoys.
Aisha’s communication is restricted so you’ll need to be sensitive and patient to understand her needs.  She is learning Makaton and Eye Gaze at school, so if you have experience or an interest in these areas to help support Aisha’s communication, this will be ideal.
If you’d like to support Aisha, send your CV and a brief supporting statement if you’d like to be considered to support Aisha.

*Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 for a female worker to work with our client.
Please note, whilst Snap endeavour to reply to all applications, some of our positions are so popular this is not possible and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
